Multimedia project conceived by a group of Croatian artists puts preservation of heritage in a new perspective

The colorful building in the very centre of Zagreb has been a well known landmark of the city since early 60's when its building had been completed. Always easily recognized by its mondrianian red, yellow, green and blue surfaces between the imaginatively conceived window shutters, the elevator engine room on the roof-top that resembles a chimney of a steam boat and open corridors/terraces, this high-rise structure shaped by a well-known architect Ivan Vitic is suffering today. The shutters are broken, colored surfaces are pale and falling pieces of façade are threatening passers by. But in one of the apartments a group of young creative people are gathering every now and then trying to put together an action that will both offer something new to the ever demanding audience and help preservation of important piece of heritage. Vid Mesaric spoke to the spiritus movens of the "Vitic is dancing" project:
