The Polish-German Year, initiated by governments of both countries, will continue until the end of May. It has been extremely rich in various cultural, scientific, business and political events. Last year, artists of Kraków took part in one of them.

Festival Uwaga Polen kommen (Attention – Poles are coming) was one of the events arranged in the Polish-German Year. Artist of Kraków went to visit Thuringen, a twin region of Ma³opolska province. Together with German artists, they arranged an interdisciplinary festival of arts featuring performance, audiovisual, multimedia and Internet installations, a radio programme, a TV show, theatrical performances, various concerts and meetings. The event was not limited to a presentation of Polish culture, but it also provoked a discussion on important problems of two nations, affecting a new generation.

Pif Paf Group, well known for its performances in Kraków, turned into a “home theatre” for the sake of the Festival. Audience could watch their performances in German if they ordered a “home delivery” of the theatre… just by making one phone call.

Jakub Czupryñski is talking to Joanna Kerth and Pawel Kamiñski about the Festival...
